Atlas Interpretation:
Interpreted image
Type of Preparation:
Conventional

Magnification:
High

Interpretation:
NILM: Tubal metaplasia

Cytomorphologic Criteria:
Tubal metaplasia (endocervical cells): cilia are not as obvious in this image and there is hyperchromasia; however the shape of cell favors a non-neoplastic endocervical cell.

Explanatory Notes:
Enlarged and/or crowded or hyperchromatic nuclei and nuclear stratification may lead to an interpretation of atypical endocervical cells unless terminal bars and cilia are identified.
