Clinical History: 63 year old female routine Pap test.
Interpretation:
NILM: Fungal organisms morphologically consistent with Candida spp.(Torulopsis Glabrata)
Cytomorphologic Criteria: Small, uniform, round budding yeast.
Explanatory Notes: Fungus related to candida. Do not form pseudohyphae in vivo or in culture. Torulopsis organisms may have a surrounding capsule with the yeast in the center giving a "halo appearance".
