Interpretation:
NILM: Cellular changes consistent with Herpes simplex virus

Cytomorphologic Criteria:
Dense intranuclear inclusions which are often eosinophilic, surrounded by a halo or clear zone. Multinucleation is also present.

Explanatory Notes:
Multinucleated cells and inclusions are not always seen. Nuclei with "ground-glass" features are the most common change identified with Herpes.
