Interpretation:
NILM: Atrophy
Cytomorphologic Criteria: Generalized nuclear enlargement is present in parabasal cells but without significant hyperchromasia. Nuclei show fine chromatin and appear uniform and bland. They are present in a sheet with a microbiopsy appearance.
Explanatory Notes: This is a more difficult example of atrophy. Background findings may be useful. Nuclei within atrophy tend to look similar, while different populations are present in ASC and SIL.
