Clinical History: 70 year old woman with large pelvic mass and ascites
Interpretation:
Adenocarcinoma, extrauterine
Cytomorphologic Criteria: Cells in papillary configurations and psammoma bodies.
Explanatory Notes: Although most commonly associated with ovarian carcinoma, psammoma bodies may also be seen in fallopian tube carcinoma and papillary serous carcinomas of the endometrium. Note clean background, generally typical of tumors not originating in the cervix.
